The Big Mulch Part 3
I know this was done and dusted a while back but i figured I would put up the last few pictures I have, part of the reason for that is that a huge part of the pile of mulch is still against the wall outside.
Well it’s not really a Patio, more an area to put my bins on but you get the idea.
I know this was done and dusted a while back but i figured I would put up the last few pictures I have, part of the reason for that is that a huge part of the pile of mulch is still against the wall outside.
I know it’s been a while since I have posted anything so I figured a few pictures of my first carrots would be a good come back.
Further to part 1 here are the pictures of the second day of mulching. When we started on that morning we very quickly realised that there was a lot more to do than we had originally realised.
The pile of branches in the garden still looked huge and my hands were already covered in scratches.
As communities go i think the internet can be great. I was looking for some horseradish and I met someone called Sharon, she had some to spare and went through the effort of posting it to me in a little plastic bag and a plastic pot in a little square box.
After I moved to Ireland I heard of nettle soup, could not believe it was possible and figured I would have to try it out for myself.
After a long week in the UK I flew back to find my house in quite a bit of mess. It turns out the gardener had been over and done a lot of cutting to the trees at the front and the hedge in the back garden.
I have added a third raised bed to the back of the garden, with some nicely rotten horse manure on the top of loads of dead leaves and some cardboard. The surrounding wood is Decking bought on sale at B&Q, I have enough of them to make another bed.
Along with a lot of other things I have had to pull out this one I enjoyed the most.
A friend recently pointed out an interesting issue to me. A landfill in County Clare has been issued a non-compliance order from the EPA.
I have no problem with what the EPA are doing and am not a big fan of landfills however I do have a bit of an issue with the way they came to the conclusion there was a problem.
Our greenhouse is starting to get a bit crowded so even though it is a bit early we have decided to try moving seedlings outside. We mainly planted out the salad leaves, as we have plenty more of these following, and a few plants that were starting to get too big for the seed trays, such as the peas and sunflowers.
