A new bed + 2

new-bedI have added a third raised bed to the back of the garden, with some nicely rotten horse manure on the top of loads of dead leaves and some cardboard. The surrounding wood is Decking bought on sale at B&Q, I have enough of them to make another bed.

bed-2bed-3Anyway the two other beds are doing very well, most plants are  not having any trouble (except for my Mongolian giant sunflowers!). The Brocoli Raab is flowering quite a bit, most of the heads produced where a little too small to pick so i never cut them off. The lettuces offered to us by the neighbour are doing quite well except for one that has been attacked by slugs.

And now for a bit of before and after, I have taken a couple of pictures of the whole garden

Hi Thomas, you have certainly whipped that abandoned garden into shape! Try cutting off the small florets of broccoli and new ones should shoot out. You could have enough for a stirfry with some of the tender leaves attached.

Thanks Peggy, I just spent the better part of the weekend mulching up loads of branches we had cut down from the back hedge and the trees at the front.

I guess tonight is stir fry so! :-) Will let you know how the leaves turn out!
